This posting is dedicated to the major events (especially the travelling part) during my 1-year stay in Trento, Italy, that haven’t been logged yet. Honestly, I’ve forgotten the details, so pictures may tell the stories better than my memory.
On September 17th 2008, the master theses defences (presentations) were held at the IRST building. And one of the Indonesian EuMI students (Ferry Irawan Tantono, my senior) got a 110 con lode (with distinction). Congratulations to him!
Trento – Congratulations to Ferry! (me, Tizar, Ferry, Ida, Yusi)
On October 12th 2008, I and Mu went to Bolzano for a day trip.
Bolzano – Me posing with a big pumpkin
On November 8th 2008, I, Alexis and Mu went ice-skating. Jeff and his wife, Jennifer, came along a bit later.
Trento – Ice-skating (Alexis, Mu, me)
On November 15th and 16th 2008, I and Mu went to Torino for a 2-day trip. We visited several spots, the most interesting one was the Egyptian museum that showed several mummies
Torino – In front of the National Museum of Cinema
During the Christmas break, I, Mu, Wenjing, Gao Xiang and Chen Zao visited Taormina and Palermo (Sicilia). Then continued visiting Rome, but we were separated since I joined Josef, an EMSE student. I, Josef and Jun Ming (a guy I didn’t know before who was interested in joining our trip) went to the midnight Christmas mass at the Vatican city and visited many famous spots in Rome.
Taormina – Posing at the old Greek theatre
Palermo – In front of the cathedral
Roma – Inside the famous Colosseum (Jun Ming, Josef, me)
Roma – Eyes-closed pose outside the Colosseum
Vatican – Posing in front of St. Peter’s basilica
I spent the new year’s eve in Trento with Indonesian friends. We went to piaza del Duomo to see fire crackers during the year-changing moments, then we watched a cartoon at Yudis‘ place until morning came.
On January 17th 2009, I and Ida visited Vicenza. Palladio’s architectures are indeed nice.
Early January I, Mu, Sandeep, Jeff, Jennifer, Mike, Fatih, and an Italian girl went skiing somewhere around Val di Sole. A stupid thing happened. I, Mu and Sandeep went down hill with the wrong cable car
On January 21st 2009, Yudis conducted his final Ph.D presentation at IRST.
Trento – Yudis’ Ph.D defense. Congratulations to him!
On May 25th 2009, I went to Trento from Aachen to fetch some left luggages. I visited Verona and visited some famous spots.

It’s a pity that I haven’t visited Pisa and Firenze. Next time then

Wow, how many things you did!!!
Are you now doing your last year in Aachen? Cool!
Ciao Michele… Come va?

Yeah… I like Italy…. I hope I can travel around Italy again later on
Yes, I’m doing my thesis now here in Aachen. You are also enrolled in the EuMI programme right? Are you moving to Edinburgh?
Btw, you have a cool website
all the best,
Dafferianto
Bene grazie, tu?
Yes, I applied for the EuMI program and I will go next September to Edinburgh. I’m now studying a lot in order to pass all the exams (omg, I have to do logic among the others! -.-)…
Thanks, I’m happy you enjoyed my site!
See you!
Ciao Michele,
Va bene grazie
But the teaching assistant was beautiful though
haha….
Wow, cool.. So you are going to Edinburgh next semester. Good luck for the Logics… Btw, is it the Logics with Prof. Serafini or the one with Prof. Fausto & Dr. Agostini? The one conducted by Prof. Serafini was a real nightmare to me
How’s Trento now? I remember last year during summer Povo was so beautiful….
all the best,
Dafferianto
Yes, Logics is with Serafini, I don’t know Agostini…
The teaching assistant, you mean Anna Paola Marconi: http://sra.itc.it/people/marconi/ ?
Well, Trento is quite hot now, about 30°C… what about there in Aachen?
Bye!
@Michele:
I see… That Logics was a real nightmare.. No doubt
There’s another Logics called “Logics for Data and Knowledge Representation” conducted by both Prof. Fausto and Dr. Agostini. That one was much better since they taught us how to apply the logics instead doing some proofs

Hey Michele, you are right about the TA
Whoa.. It’s so hot there.. Here it’s also hot, but not that hot.. Maybe around 27°C.
all the best,
Dafferianto
Ah ok! No no, unfortunately I have to Logics with Serafini… -.-
Good work with your thesis, bye!
@Michele:
Ok then, good luck with your exams….
Buon a la fine settimana….
ucok.. loe gak mandi ya ? atau jarang mandi ya ? kok kusut gitu tampangnya ?
@Ninta: Weitz, mandi donk…. Itu pas lagi kepanasan abis puter2… Biasanya sih keliatan ganteng
haha…

Last year it was snowing hard around December-January. But nice time for skiing
